Please allow time for your e-wallet to update and display any winnings, which you can view from "My Statement" - under "My Account".

To open the uVme Instant Messenger, you will need to log into your uVme.com website, and then click on the Instant Messenger icon to the open the uVme IM. Players in these states can, however, still lawfully participate in free-to-enter tournaments. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact Member Support at admin@uvme.com.

Frequently Asked Questions on IM
Will the uVme Instant Messenger open automatically as soon as I login?
No, you will need to log in to your uVme.com website, and then click on the Instant Messenger icon to open the uVme IM. This is a yellow smiley face doing the “V” sign along your navigation bar (at the end of the tabs for Home, Join, Support, Deposit Funds, and My Account).
How can I see my contacts on the Instant Messenger?
Associates: Once you open the uVme IM, your sponsored Associates will be listed in folders by genealogy level, up to a maximum of 1,000 Associates. You will also have a folder titled “Players” containing all of your personally introduced players who have logged in to uVme.com in the last 21 days.
Players and Associates will also have folders marked “Support” and “General”, for other contacts. To open the folders, simply click on them or on the arrows next to them to view your contacts in that level who are currently ONLINE. You can close the folder by clicking on it, or the arrow next to it, once again.
How can I add contacts to my Instant Messenger?
You will be able to add contacts using either the “Add contact” choice under the “Contacts” drop-down list at the very top of your Contact List box, or the “Add” button right under your name (both are marked by an avatar wearing blue). Click either of these buttons, and another box will open. You select whether they are a uVme contact or an imported contact from another IM, then enter their uVme membership number and a nickname to add them to your list – and press “Add”.
Can I import my contacts from MSN/AIM/Yahoo! etc to my Instant Messenger?
At the moment, only Google Talk and Jabber contacts can be imported – other IMs will follow.
Why doesn’t a contact I just added appear in my contacts list?
Your added contact has to confirm they wish to be added to your list before they will appear in your contacts roster. When they next log in to their uVme IM, they will receive a “subscription request” from you, which they have to click “authorize” or “deny”. Once they have authorized your request, you will receive a subscription request back from THEM to be added to THEIR list, too!
How do I start a conversation with one of my contacts?
Simply double-click on one of your contacts in your list contacts to open a conversation window, or right-click on their name and select “Chat with ____”.
How can I tell if the person I am having a conversation with has got my message?
You will see their response in the same chat window once they have written a reply and pressed “Send” (or hit “Enter” on their keyboard). While they are typing a response, you will see the message “User is writing a message” displayed in your chat window, so you know they are typing a message back to you.
I don’t have an arrow next to my folders – why not?
If there are no online contacts within a certain folder/level, then there will not be an “expansion” arrow for that folder. So if you don’t see an arrow next to a folder, that means it is currently empty. However, by right-clicking the folder and selecting “Show offline contacts in group”, you may now have an expansion arrow, because the folder now contains offline contacts as well.
How can I tell if my contacts are online or not?
Your contacts’ online status will be shown by a light bulb next to their name. The bulb will light up (yellow light bulb) when your contacts are online, and will appear “off” (grey light bulb) when your contacts are offline.
How can I see my other contacts who are currently OFFLINE?
Just right-click on a folder and select “Show offline contacts in group”. You will see your contacts that are offline listed with a grey light bulb next to their screen name. You can still send them a chat message, which they will receive whenever they next log in to the uVme IM.
Why aren’t offline contacts displayed all of the time?
Because this is the web-based IM, it is like a little mini-web browser running within your browser all the time. With the potentially thousands of contacts you may have, to display all of them all the time would significantly slow down your browser and place huge demands on your bandwidth. And we all want to go as quickly as possible online – these days the “World Wide Wait” is over!
How can I change someone’s screen name in my IM contact list, so I know who they are?
Right-click on a contact, and you will see a menu with several options, including “Rename”. If you select “Rename”, you can change the name displayed for this contact.
How do I remove someone from my contact list?
Right-click on their screen name, and select “Remove”.
What does “status” mean, and what are all the different status messages for?
After you have authorized someone to see your status, it allows you to provide them with more information about what you are currently doing, for example a red circle with a dash inside means “DO NOT DISTURB” – so that lets your contacts know that you are online, but not available to chat at the moment.
How do I change my status?
You select your status by clicking the “Online” drop-down list at the top of your “Contact List” box, right under your name. Your other status choices are “Online”; “Ready to chat”; “Away”; “Extended away” (means you will be away from your computer for some time); “Do not disturb”; and “Offline”. Please note: you may select “Offline” even when you are really online, if you do not want your contacts to know you are online at that time.
How will I know if I have received a message from one of my contacts?
A box will pop up with a message from a contact if they send it to you while you are ONLINE. If you are not logged in to the uVme IM at the time they send it, then it will pop up to you the next time you log in.
Why didn’t I receive the chat message my friend was sending me while we were playing a uVme game?
While you are playing uVme games, your status will automatically change to “Offline” and you will not receive any chat messages until after you have finished your game. This is to prevent your game being interrupted! Once you exit the game screen, you will see your conversation windows again, including any messages that you received while you were playing.
Can I have more than one conversation window open at any time?
Yes, you can chat to many people at once, and you can move the conversation boxes around the screen or minimize them, so you can see more than one at once.
How do I close, minimize, resize, and move my chat and contact list windows around on the screen?
To move the boxes around the screen, just click on the green strip at the top of the box (you will see crosshairs when your mouse is on top of this strip) and drag it around the screen by holding down your left mouse button and moving the mouse.
To minimize, click the “-“ button in the uppermost right corner of the box. To bring the box back up onto your screen, find its green strip just above your task bar, and click the double boxes in the uppermost right corner of the strip.
To resize, put your mouse cursor over the bottom edge of the box, and it will change to a double-headed arrow. Left-click and drag to resize the box.
To close a chat window, click the “X” cross in the uppermost right-hand corner.
Can I send a challenge to my contacts using the Instant Messenger?
Not right now – feature coming soon.
How can I use “emoticons” to let my contacts know the mood or tone of a message?
It is hard to express the fact that you are “joking”, or any other kind of tone intended in your chat messages. That’s what “emoticons” are for! When you have a conversation window open with a contact, you will see a smiley face drop-down menu in the green strip between your typing window and the chat window. Click on this to see the menu of “emoticons” – smiley faces, sad faces, angry faces – that you can send to your contact to express how you are feeling! Just select one from the menu, and it will be added to your typing window as a series of symbols - DON’T WORRY, when you click “send” or press Enter on your keyboard, the emoticon will appear to your contact just as it looks in the menu.
How do I change my “avatar” (display image)?
Press the “My Account” tab once logged into uVme.com, then select “Edit My Profile” in the Options Menu (left side of page). You will see a button to select your Gender (optional) and a side-scrollable menu of uVme avatars/display images to choose from. Click on your favourite and press “Save Changes” to update your IM!
I can’t see any of my contacts. Why is this?
Your contacts may be offline. To view your offline contacts, right-click on the folders in you contacts list and check the ‘Show offline contacts’ box. If you have just added a contact, they will not appear in your list until they next log in to the messenger and accept your “subscription request”.
Why do I receive subscription requests from the same contact I’ve already added every time I open a new tab on uVme.com?
This is a temporary problem that will be fixed shortly. For now, just click “authorize”.
